Joint Health and Safety Committees

Overview
We support our clients through more than just training and policy writing. HSPI is an expert in all aspects of Joint Health and Safety Committees. We support our clients in establishing new JHSCs, developing tools to support JHSC members carrying out their functions, and help build cohesion among JHSC members to function more effectively.
This is in addition to our CPO-Approved Basic Certification Training!
What We Do
HSPI offers multiple services to support JHSCs. The two main areas that we focus on are Basic Certification Training, and JHSC effectiveness.
The Occupational Health and Safety Act requires all workplaces where 20 or more people are regularly employed to have a JHSC and a minimum of two Certified members. As a CPO-Approved training provider, HSPI offers the Part One and Part Two Basic Certification and Refresher courses.
In addition to ensuring your staff has the training and certifications needed to meet the minimum legal requirements, HSPI also offers customized services to enhance your JHSC’s efficiency. We will meet with your JHSC to understand the current situation and develop a unique plan to address your needs.

How We Support You
At HSPI, we aim to tailor our support to your specific needs. This is why we offer multiple forms of our popular JHSC Basic Certification and Refresher courses. Currently, we offer JHSC Part One, Part Two, and Refresher through instructor-led virtual learning, and onsite at your organization. We also offer JHSC Part One eLearning for those who want to learn on their own time without the constraint of a scheduled course!
Our experienced consultants can also customize a program to enhance your JHSC’s efficiency. This includes developing, reviewing, or updating terms of reference, creating inspection tools or checklists for JHSC members, or running workshops on team dynamics and consensus building.
Amidst the COVID-19 landscape, numerous JHSCs have sought our guidance for their procedures. We invite you to let HSPI be part of your JHSC meetings, offering valuable insights and recommendations to bolster your committee’s effectiveness.
